February 2012 Birchbox

Yay - I finally got my February Birchbox and was excited to open the box and see what goodies were waiting for me.  I have to say that my box was just OK, I wasn't totally thrilled with what I got but I was really excited with one of the items that was included this month. 

The theme of this month's box was "Spotlight" - the Birchbox Team selected samples that were "designed to highlight your awesomeness - and maybe attract a little attention".  

The 4 samples included in this month's box were:

1.  Beautyblender - the Original Beauty Blender; This hot pink sponge is a pro favorite that helps your foundation look airbrushed, no Photoshop required. 

-I'm very excited to try out the Beautyblender; I've heard amazing things about this tool - how it makes applying your foundation so easy and effortless, as well as making your skin look perfectly flawless and airbrushed.  I'll let you know how I like using this in a few weeks.

2.  Jouer - Luminizing Moisture Tint; The votes are in, and this award-winning tinted moisturizer tops the list. It's our daily shortcut to dewy, glowing skin.

-I love my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer but I'm curious to see how this compares to that.  Even though tinted moisturizers are supposed to be lightweight and somewhat sheer in coverage, I have to say that the LM tinted moisturizer has a little more coverage than most and I love using this tinted moisturizer when my skin looks good topped off with either my MAC MSF Natural powder or Bare Minerals on top of it.  We'll see how the Jouer tinted moisturizer compares to my LM one. 

3.  Orofluido - Beauty Elixir; This hair treatment taps into a trio of nourishing essential oils (argan, linseed, cyperus) to keep hair smooth and sleek.

-I hope that this "elixir" revives and nourishes my overly heat processed hair...

4.  Violent Lips - Temporary Lip Tattoos; These celeb favorites are a fun way to sass up your usual lip color - wear them when you're feeling bold.

-The lip tattoos that were sent to me were in gold - cute and flashy, I'm not sure when I'll have the opportunity to wear them but they'll be fun to wear nonetheless .  And I read that Katy Perry was sporting the glittery pink lip tattoos on the Grammy's last night - too cool!
