July 2012 Favorites

July had to have been one of the hottest months that I can remember!!  I'm so glad that this month is almost over and hopefully the heat will start to settle down and lead to some cool breezes.  In any case, here are my favorites for the month of July.

1.  It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Treatment - since it's been so hot, I've had absolutely no inclination to sweat any more than I have to (i.e. no hair drying or flat ironing) so I have been wearing my hair au natural - a.k.a. curly.  I love using this product to help my curls stay fresh looking and less frizzy.  This product claims to do 10 things: repair dry, damaged hair; adds shine; smooths and controls frizz; seals and protects hair color; prevents split ends; flat iron spray and thermal protector; detangles; stops hair breakage; creates silkiness; and enhances natural body.  I have had this product for many years now but I tend to try other products and forget about this one.  But I have since rediscovered it and realized why I loved it so much.

2.  Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara - this is my new favorite mascara.  This mascara gives my lashes lots of length, volume and a va-va-va-voom look!  I love how dramatic this mascara makes my lashes look - and just after one coat.  This mascara has been great addition to my makeup routine since I've been quite lazy this month and have worn very few products on my eyes.

3.  Nars Mekong Eyeshadow - this eyeshadow is a dark, deep "espresso" brown with slight (micro) gold glitter in it.  I must note that the glitter doesn't really translate on your lid unless you use it wet - then you might see a little sparkle to it but otherwise, it's a dark brownish-black color.  I love using this shadow as my liner on my top and bottom lashes.  I love how this shadow gives my eyes a defined lash line and by using a small pencil brush (like my Sigma E30) to smudge the shadow, I can smoke out the line and enhance the look. This is the perfect multipurpose product to use when you don't want to use too many products.

4.  MAC Margin Blush - Another oldie but goodie!  This is my first MAC blush that I ever purchased and I love how it looks on my cheeks.  The color is on the apricoty-peachy side with warm glowing after effect.  This blush does have a frost finish which lends to the "glowy" look that it imparts on your skin.  But the color is amazing on my skin tone and is quite suitable on most skin tones.  I love to apply this blush with a stippling brush (Sigma F50 Duo Fibre) which helps to deposit just the right amount of color and then blending it out in a circular motion.  Love, love this blush!

Well I hope that you had a great month of July.  The summer is winding down but there is still plenty of time to have fun and enjoy all that the summer has to offer.  What are your favorite products this month?
