Beauty - Makeup Travel Bag

Packing for trips are never fun - you want to pack everything but you can't.  I usually end up packing for way more days than I'm travelling because you just don't know when you might need to wear this or that, or need to wear a different type of shoe for day and night.  And the same goes for my makeup - you never know when you might want to wear a natural eye, or a smokey eye, or bold colors or...well, you get it.  So you end up packing more palettes than you need and more makeup products than you'll use.

Well, my family and I just came back from our 5 day vacation at Walt Disney World. We had a blast and the looks on the kids faces when they saw their favorite Disney characters were priceless.  Anywho...I knew while packing my makeup and hair supplies for our trip that we would be out and about for very long hours and that the weather would be 90 degrees plus.  So knowing this, I tried to pack minimally but pick products that are long wearing and would withstand the temperatures.  I was not disappointed with the makeup products that I picked out.

For my face - I chose my MUFE HD primer, then used my Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour Full Coverage foundation using my Beauty Blender.  For under eye concealer, I used MAC Studio Finish.  I used MAC StudioFix Powder to set my foundation/concealer.  And lastly, I used Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed for both my contour/bronzer and blush.

For my eyes - I used my favorite Tarte EmphasEYES Brow Waterproof Mousse for my eyebrows with my MAC 208 brush.  I primed my lids with Benefit Stay Don't Stray e/s primer.  I then used MUFE Cream eyeshadow base in #13 (a shimmering champagne color) all over my lids from lash line to brow.  I then pulled out my Urban Decay Naked2 palette and used Tease to place in the crease and Foxy as my highlight.  I then lined my upper and lower lash line with MAC Teddy Eye Kohl and smudged it out, and then set it with Hustle e/s from the Naked2 palette.  I tightlined my waterline with MAC Blacktrack Fluidline and set it with Blackout e/s from the Naked2 palette.  I used another new favorite of mine, the MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara (amazing results with just 1 coat!!) and that was it!

For my lips - I kept this really simple and used my Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment with SPF 15.  This product gave my lips a naturally rosy tint to them while providing the necessary SPF that I needed while out in the sun all day (I also used this and the plain lip treatment on my kids' lips to protect their precious and delicate lips).

This makeup made my face look not too overly made-up but minimally polished - just the way I like it.  And it only took about 5-7 minutes from start to finish.  The best part was that by the end of the day (and without any touching up during the day sans some minor blotting with a tissue), my foundation looked decent, no signs of breaking down and with just a hint of shine - or shall we say "a dewy finish".  I'm convinced that it's the Amazonian Clay that naturally blotted my oiliness throughout the day.  In spite of all the sweating, my makeup held up for more than 12 hours.  I might have to wear this look more often, even if I'm not traveling.

I hope that you find this article helpful for the next time that you pack your makeup bag for your next trip.  Enjoy...
