Product Review - Tarte: The Miracle of Maracuja

I used to be a MAC girl - I only bought and used MAC products but I have branched out over the years. I have used both drugstore brands as well as high end brands. But let me tell you that I am really starting to like the Tarte makeup brand. Not only does this makeup line have great products but they are good for your skin too! Not only am I interested in feeding my body healthy and nutritious foods, but I also want to use products that are good for my skin and can help "repair, rejuvenate and replenish" my skin with continued use. Tarte formulates their products without the use of mineral oils, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfates, and synthetic fragrances. This particular set is a QVC exclusive set containing all full size products which is such a value for the price. Since I purchased this as a TSV (Today's Special Value), I got this whole set for just under $60 (plus about $5 for shipping). I also took advantage of the auto delivery option, which means that I will get a new set every 4 months featuring new seasonal colors and I will get them for the same TSV price.

One of the great qualities of Tarte products are that they are infused with pure Maracuja Oil - which is only found in the Amazon Rainforest. This oil is tauted to help "repair, rejuvenate and replenish skin" as well as to "help make the appearance of skin firmer, brighter and smoother over time". According to the insert included in this set, Maracuja is:

"Only one crop of this rare Brazilian fruit grows every year with the harvest occurring in late August. Women of the Amazonian cooperative collect maracuja by hand and cold press the seeded pulp of the fruit, extracting the concentrated pure oil, to preserve the loss of any nutrient-rich essential fatty acids (EFAs) or vitamins."

So far I have really enjoyed using these products everyday. I really love the colors and the pigmentation of the eyeshadow quad. The colors are so vibrant and wear for such a long time without creasing on me (I did use the primer before I applied the shadows). I am especially loving the Bouncy Blush in Shimmering Poppy, and applying with the Airbrush Brush that it came with - I have literally been using this blush/brush every single day since I got this set. The brush perfectly blends this blush into your skin making it seamlessly look like your naturally flushed color. I also love the packaging of the eyeshadow quad as well as the lip gloss.
